The international tournament "Heydar Aliyev Cup-2026" among youth boxers has ended in Baku.

It was reported that 185 athletes from 8 countries tested their strength in the competition held at the Boxing Center. In the six-day competition, the winners were determined in 14 weight categories for boys and 9 for girls.
The final fights that took place today were watched by officials of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, prize-winners of the Olympic and world championships. They also participated in the award ceremony.
The Azerbaijani national team finished the tournament with 45 medals. In the team of boys coached by Vagif Kazimov, Aydın Shahbazov (44 kg), Hasrat Mammadov (46 kg), Rustam Nasibov (50 kg), Ismayil Nasirzade (52 kg), Mahammadali Istamov (57 kg), Vakil Gurbanov (63 kg), Yusif Agakishiyev (75 kg) and Shukar Aliyev (80 kg) won the champion title.
Ilhan Mamiyev (44 kg), Sarkhan Agazade (46 kg), Nihad Mammadli (48 kg), Vagif Mammadli (50 kg), Gardash Rahimov (52 kg), Ali Jamalzade (57 kg), Ali Abasli (60 kg) and Saleh Farajov (80 kg), who lost only in the final, were satisfied with the second place.
From our other boxers, Ravan Hashimov (44 kg), Yusif Huseynov (46 kg), Nizami Aliyev (48), Rasul Babazade, Sahib Bakhishli (both 50 kg), Mirtahir Ahmadli (52 kg), Eljan Musazade (54 kg), Aydin Aliyev, Tunar Mehdiyev (both 60 kg), Yusif Mammadli (66 kg), Hidayat Mammadov (70 kg) and Mehran Rasulov (+80 kg) won bronze medals.
As part of our U-17 girls' team coached by Ilkin Agayev, Aysel Farajova (46 kg), Aydan Ismayilli (48 kg) and Sama Abbasova (66 kg) won the title of tournament winner.
Yegana Rahimova (48 kg), Fatima Mammadli (50 kg), Jamila Muradli (57 kg), Ramziya Mirzayeva (70 kg) won silver, Nasrin Abdullazade, Aysan Miriyeva (both 46 kg), Nurgul Ojagova (48 kg), Tunca Murshudova, Sima Ismayilova (both 50 kg), Alsu Yafarova (52 kg), Narmin Abdullazade, Ayan Novruzlu (both 54 kg), Emiliya Beydullayeva (57 kg) and Aynur Valizade (63 kg) won bronze medals.
Thus, the Azerbaijani national team finished the tournament with 11 gold, 12 silver and 22 bronze medals.
In the team competition, our national team took first place and won the Heydar Aliyev Cup. Georgia (4-2-4) took the second step, while Kazakhstan (3-5-7) closed the "top three".
Aliimran Aliyev (Kazakhstan) was awarded the title of the best boxer in the tournament. Ilgar Gasimzade (Azerbaijan) was chosen as the best referee.
