Following him, Mahammad Abdullayev (+90 kg) also climbed to the highest step of the podium. He showed his strength to Davit Chaloyan (Armenia) in the decisive match. Abdullayev, who defeated his opponent with a score of 3:2 (29:28, 28:29, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28), secured the third gold medal for our team and the Azerbaijani anthem was sung for the third time in Brazil.
In the first session of the final stage, Saidjamshid Jafarov (75 kg) became the winner of the World Cup, and Nabi Isgandarov (70 kg) won a bronze medal earlier.
Thus, our men's national team, which won 3 gold and 1 bronze medal, finished the World Cup in second place in the team standings. The hosts surpassed our team, which participated in the competition with 6 male boxers, only with a silver medal.
