British heavyweight boxer Anthony Joshua has revealed his assessment of his opponent Jake Paul's punching power after their fight, taking a fairly nonchalant stance on the matter.
İdman.Biz reports that Joshua evaluated Paul's punching power in just two words in an interview with "Fight Hub" after their fight on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, which ended in a sixth-round knockout: "It was normal."
Joshua, a two-time world champion, stated after the fight that while Paul showed some resilience, his punches were not at the elite heavyweight level. He also admitted that he didn't consider his own performance to be ideal, saying, "It could have been better," but emphasized that the main goal was to win.
Jake Paul later appeared on his brother Logan Paul's "Impaulsive" podcast, acknowledging Anthony Joshua's physical advantage in the ring and describing the injury he sustained as feeling like "there was a baseball inside my jaw." He stated that the fight helped him better understand the demands of high-level professional boxing.
