Youth competitions in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev were held.
Idman.Biz reports that the tournaments were organized in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, Sumgayit and Sabirabad. More than 300 athletes of different age groups competed in the competitions in total.
The Nakhchivan Championship in freestyle wrestling among youth took place in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. About 80 wrestlers tested their strength in the competition, in which athletes born in 2009–2011 participated.
An open tournament in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling among youth was held in Sumgayit in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. More than 80 wrestlers participated in the competition, in which athletes born in 2011–2013 competed.
The memory of the National Leader was also commemorated in Sabirabad. An open tournament in Greco-Roman wrestling among youth was organized here. About 150 athletes from two age groups took to the mat in the outdoor competition. Wrestlers born in 2010–2012 and 2015–2017 competed in the tournament.
