The U15 European Wrestling Championship started today in Samokov, Bulgaria. Sport24.az reports that the finalists in 7 weight categories in Greco-Roman wrestling were determined on the first day of the competition.
Huseyn Amrahli (38 kg), after defeating Armenian Gor Karapetyan (9:0) and Bulgarian Ivan Aleksandrova (8:0) with complete superiority, was stronger than Russian Ervin Sufiyanov in the semi-finals – 3:1. Huseyn will wrestle Estonian Daniel Samuel in the final.
Khudayar Karimov (41 kg), although he eliminated Finnish Vilyami Kotilainen (5:3) from the competition, he could not continue the match in the 1/4 finals due to a hand injury in the fight with Bulgarian Ognian Burgazov.
Pasha Aslan (44 kg) defeated Belarusian Matvey Utlik (9:0) and Serbian Adam Horvat (9:1) ahead of time. In the semi-finals, he defeated Georgian Luka Saghinadze with a score of 5:3. Pasha will wrestle his namesake Pasha Khudoyan from Armenia in the final.
Punhan Shahmarov (48 kg) defeated Hungarian Vensel Olas (11:3), Belarusian Nazar Krishnyov (5:3) and Turkish Mehmet Dedeoglu (6:0). Our compatriot, who lost to Russian Felix Tuaev (1:10) in the semi-finals, will compete for the bronze medal tomorrow.
Rasul Ahmadli (52 kg) lost to Turkish Muhammed Ozen with a minimal difference in the 1/8 finals – 1:2.
Sadiq Valizade (57 kg) defeated British Paul Hanlon (8:0) and Turkish Yusuf Sariyara (9:5) and made it to the semi-finals. Sadiq failed to beat Russian Raybek Muchuraev one step away from the final – 2:13.
Raul Mammadzada (62 kg) defeated Bulgarian Grigor Simyonov (9:1), but lost to Georgian Gabriel Tavberidze (1:5) in the 1/4 finals. Since the opponent advanced to the final, Raul will compete in a consolation match tomorrow.
