The U17 European Wrestling Championship held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, will end today.
Idman.biz reports that four freestyle wrestlers representing Azerbaijan, who are protecting the country's medal chances, will compete on the mat on the last day of the competition.
Hasan Hasanov (60 kg) lost to Zorab Aloyev (Ukraine) 4:5 in the final and became the silver medalist of the U17 European Championship.
Said Pashayev (92 kg) will also compete in the final.
Ramal Mirhuseynov (51 kg), who defeated Bugra Kavaka (Turkey) 2:1 in the consolation stage, later defeated Vahan Azaryan (Armenia) 10:6 and won the bronze medal of the U17 European Championship.
Omar Usubov (45 kg) also continues his fight for a bronze medal.
Currently, the Azerbaijani team has 9 medals - 4 gold, 1 silver and 4 bronze. Rihad Ibrahimli (110 kg), Abdulrahman Huseynli (45 kg), Ravan Hasanzada (48 kg) and Ruslan Alizade (55 kg) became European champions. Ali Nazarov (60 kg) won silver, Gurban Majnunov (48 kg), Nicat Yeylagaliyev (80 kg), Nazrin Ahmadli (46 kg) and Hakim Tagiyev (110 kg) won bronze medals.
