"Every profession has its own difficulties." Sport24.az reports that these words were spoken by Asif Shiraliyev, Chairman of the Referees Committee of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, during his speech at a seminar organized by the organization in Shamakhi.
According to him, the responsibility of referees increases because football has a larger fan base: "As for wrestling, the referee himself must wrestle on the mat. Speaking for myself, I also fight on the mat like wrestlers. The responsibility of the referee on the mat is greater than others. The final decision is made by the head of the mat."
"I myself have made mechanical mistakes. Sometimes I blew the whistle early. But in my 19-year career, I have never made a serious mistake. I have not been removed from competitions by an international organization," the expert noted.
