Azerbaijan's Greco-Roman wrestling team took second place at the World Championships held in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia.
Idman.biz reports with reference to the press service of the Wrestling Federation that our Greco-Roman wrestling team, which won 1 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals in the competition, scored 89 points.
Iran (180 points) took first place, and Uzbekistan (72 points) took third place.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani wrestlers won 8 medals at the World Championships. Ulvi Ganizade (72 kg) won the title of world champion. Giorgi Meshvildishvili (125 kg), Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) won silver, Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg), Nureddin Novruzov (61 kg), Arseniy Djioyev (86 kg), Osman Nurmagomedov (92 kg) and Murad Ahmadiev (92 kg) won bronze medals.
