Azerbaijani Greco-Roman Wrestlers Reach Finals at U-15 European Championship

Three Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have reached the finals of the U-15 European Championship held in Caorle, Italy.

This was reported to "Report" by the Press Service of the Federation.

13 members of the national team competed on the third day of the continental championship.

38 kg

Huseyn Amrahli defeated Italian Nikola Sedikina (9:0), Belarusian Gleb Semianenka (3:1), and Armenian Vardan Melkonyan (4:2) to reach the final. Our other representative in this weight category, Khudayar Kerimli, defeated Polish Kasper Bielewicz (11:0) and Bulgarian Ivan Alexandrov (10:0), but lost to Russian Arsan Aliyev (0:9) in the 1/4 finals. Khudayar will compete in a consolation match.

Rahib Ahmadov defeated Slovak Andrey Posvanka (10:0), Romanian Ayan Istfan (11:0), and Polish Matvey Bezruky (9:0) to reach the semi-finals. He will wrestle for a bronze medal as he lost to Russian Soltan Yusupov (2:11) in the semi-finals.

Omar Salmanov defeated Turkish Mustafa Guven (8:0), Lithuanian Orestas Stakenas (8:0), and Russian Denis Sisikin (10:1) to reach the final.

Vakil Bashirov lost to Greek Nikolaos Zinisa by "touch" in the qualifying round. Since the opponent reached the final, Vakil will compete in a consolation match.

Huseyn Mustafazade defeated Polish Stanislav Zoltovski (7:1), Turkish Mehmet Kayan (13:4), and Polish Jakub Skiuolker (5:3) to reach the semi-finals. He will wrestle for a bronze medal as he lost to Georgian Gabriel Tavberidze (4:13) in the semi-finals. His teammate Gurban Majnunov lost to Romanian Andrei Peleana 3:4 in the 1/8 finals.

Ibrahim Mammadov defeated Moldovan Artyom Popescu (9:0), but lost to Ukrainian Oleksandr Venets (3:13) in the 1/8 finals.

Nadir Hasanov defeated Russian Adam Yashurkayev (4:3), Moldovan Maxim Deliu (9:1), and Turkish Suleyman Sahinol (7:1) to reach the semi-finals. He will wrestle for a bronze medal as he lost to Armenian Pavel Nazaryan (1:10) in the semi-finals.

Ali Mammadov defeated French Nika Namoyev (8:0) and Georgian Daviti Mkheidze (9:1), but lost to Russian Yuri Ronjin (0:7) in the 1/4 finals.

75 kg

Ruslan Nuriyev defeated Georgian Mikheil Beridze (3:1), Turkish Mehmet Yildiz (2:0), and Russian Ashut Galoyan (3:2) to reach the final.

85 kg

Zohrab Safarov defeated Hungarian Zombor Simon (9:0) and Russian Alexander Karpekin (10:8), but lost to Belarusian Dmitri Kisel (UWW) by "touch" in the 1/4 finals. Zohrab will compete in a consolation match. His teammate Mohammad Orujov lost to Polish Lucian Popecki by "touch" in the first stage.

Consolation and medal matches will be held tomorrow.
