Azerbaijani beach wrestlers performed successfully at the first stage of the World Series held in Da Nang, Vietnam.
Idman.Biz reports that the members of our national team finished the competition with three medals. According to the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, the first stage of the World Series was held on May 9-10 in Da Nang, Vietnam, and our country was represented in the competition by Rubail Ibrahimli, Sahib Dadashov, Vusal Aliyev and Ashraf Ashirov.
In the 70 kg weight category, Rubail Ibrahimli defeated Frenchman Quentin Sticker 2:1 in the bronze medal match. He finished the first stage of the World Series in third place.
In the 80 kg weight category, Sahib Dadashov lost to Georgian Luka Chkhitunidze 1:2 in the final. With this, the Azerbaijani representative won the silver medal of the tournament.
In the 90 kg weight category, Ashraf Ashirov defeated Georgian Iuza Tsertsvadze 3:1 in the decisive match. With this result, Ashirov became the champion of the first stage of the World Series.
Vusal Aliyev lost to Georgian Luka Chkhitunidze 0:2 in the third match, took 3rd place in the group and stopped the fight.
