Seven-time Grand Slam champion and former world number one, 45-year-old American tennis player Venus Williams has suffered her eighth consecutive defeat in WTA singles matches.
Idman.Biz reports that Williams previously lost to Frenchwoman Diane Parry in the opening round of the WTA 1000 tournament in Indian Wells, USA.
Venus Williams last won a match in July 2025 at the WTA 500 tournament in Washington. In the first round match, she defeated American tennis player Peyton Stearns.
The Indian Wells tournament is held between March 4-15. The current champion is Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva.
