Ukrainian tennis player Aleksandra Oleynikova refused to shake hands with her Hungarian opponent Anna Bondar at a tournament in Romania.
Idman.Biz reports that Oleynikova explained her decision by the fact that the Hungarian tennis player participated in a tournament held in St. Petersburg, Russia, in 2022.
At that time, the Association of Professional Tennis Players and the Women's Tennis Association organizations suspended the holding of competitions in Russia.
The Ukrainian athlete stated that Bondar's trip to Russia against the background of the military operations carried out by the Russian army on the territory of Ukraine is unacceptable, and therefore she did not shake hands with her.
