Spanish former tennis player Rafael Nadal has received an honorary doctorate from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
"Report" reports that the 39-year-old athlete shared this on his social media account.
The experienced tennis player emphasized that although he has received various awards during his career, this initiative from the university is of particular importance to him. Nadal noted that this award is a manifestation of the respect shown by institutions that serve knowledge, education, and the progress of society. The athlete said he would remember this day with great joy.
It should be noted that R. Nadal announced the end of his career in November 2024. The 22-time winner of "Grand Slam" tournaments has also won the title of Olympic champion twice (in 2008 and 2016).
