"Forbes" has presented a report for 2025 listing the highest career earnings of female tennis players, adjusted for inflation.
Idman.Biz reports that "Forbes" has released a list of the total earnings of female tennis players throughout history, taking inflation into account. The leader of the ranking is Serena Williams - her total income was $139.99 million (approximately 238 million AZN).
The report shows that earnings in women's tennis have grown rapidly in recent years. In 2024, the total earnings of the top ten were $57.4 million, while in 2025 this figure rose to $71.3 million (approximately 121 million AZN).
According to historical data, in 1977, Chris Evert became the first female tennis player to earn $500,000 (approximately 850,000 AZN) in one season. In 1982, Martina Navratilova became the first athlete to exceed the $1 million (approximately 1.7 million AZN) mark.
Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka has also moved up the list: her seasonal income exceeded $15 million (approximately 25.5 million AZN), moving her from 20th to 10th place in the overall ranking.
Other high-earning tennis players on the list:
- Venus Williams – $68.24 million (approximately 116.0 million AZN).
- Martina Navratilova – $66.04 million (approximately 112.2 million AZN).
- Maria Sharapova – $58.30 million (approximately 99.1 million AZN).
