Representatives of the World Aquatics Federation (World Aquatics), Namhi Cho, Ben Haris, and Vadim Akhmadiev, have visited Azerbaijan. Sport24.az reports that the purpose is to get acquainted with the preparation process of the Baku stage of the "Silk Road Tour," which will be held in October, and to hold discussions in this direction.
During the visit, the delegation visited the office of the Azerbaijan Swimming Federation (ASF), met with Secretary General Ogtay Atayev, Advisor Rashad Abdurrahmanov, and other employees. Also, WA officials visited the Baku Aquatics Palace, where the competition will be held, met with the arena's director Ajdar Abbasov, and employees, and got acquainted with the progress of organizational work.
It is worth mentioning that Baku will host the first stage of the "Silk Road Tour" World Cup in swimming on October 1-3, 2026. The next stages will be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (October 8-10) and Astana, Kazakhstan (October 15-17).
