Ski Cup of Turkic-Speaking States will be held among amateurs

The Ski Cup of Turkic-Speaking States will be held among amateurs.

Orkhan Badalov, Secretary General of the Union of Ski Resorts of Turkic-Speaking States, said this in an interview with "Report".

The official of the organization shared his thoughts on the preparation for the "Ski Cup of Turkic-Speaking States", which will be held in Uzbekistan in February:

"The competition will be organized by the Union of Ski Resorts of Turkic-Speaking States. The Union includes the resorts "Shahdag" of Azerbaijan, "Amirsoy" of Uzbekistan, "Shymbulak" of Kazakhstan and "Uludag" of Turkey. The Union was established in September of this year and currently includes 4 countries. In the future, steps will be taken to expand the organization. During the Ski Mountaineering World Cup, the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States was invited to Shahdag as an official guest. For the first time among amateurs, we will hold the Ski Cup of Turkic-Speaking States between women and men."

He emphasized that an open registration system will be created for the competition:

"A unified open registration system will be created by the country hosting the competition. Participants will apply by the specified date. But there will be certain criteria. For example, preference will be given to those who have been constantly involved in this sport for at least 5-6 years. Professional athletes will not be accepted. Because the competition will be held for the first time. We will think about the next steps in the future."

It should be noted that the Ski Mountaineering World Cup was held at the "Shahdag" Tourism Center on January 10-13. The "Ski Cup of Turkic-Speaking States" will be held from February 17 to 20 at the "Amirsoy" mountain resort in Uzbekistan.
