A man accused of driving a car into people during Liverpool's championship parade has been sentenced to 21 years and six months in prison.
Idman.Bi reports that in late May, a car crashed into a crowd of Liverpool fans during the team's Premier League victory parade. Police quickly identified the suspect as a 53-year-old Briton and said the incident was not related to terrorism.
At a hearing in September, former Royal Marine commando Paul Doyle pleaded not guilty to all charges, but pleaded guilty in November.
Doyle was sentenced to prison today. He was also banned from driving for 16 years and 10 months. Although 134 people were injured in his actions, only 29 victims were named in the indictment. These victims ranged in age from six months to 77 years.
The court ruling stated that Doyle "did it out of anger."
