Former Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has promised to hold a parade at his home in Mallorca if Manchester City are stripped of two league titles in favor of the "Citizens".
According to Lent.az, citing foreign media, Manchester City had previously been charged with more than 100 financial violations between 2009 and 2018.
If the "Citizens" are found guilty, the club could face a number of penalties, including points deductions, expulsion from the Premier League and the loss of four league titles.
Liverpool finished second in the Premier League behind Manchester City twice during the period under investigation - in 2014 under Brendan Rodgers and in 2019 under Jurgen Klopp.
"We discussed this when I left Liverpool. You know, I don't spend much time at my home in Mallorca because I travel the world a lot. If a situation arises where Manchester City are stripped of their titles and the Mersiside are declared champions, I will just tell anyone who wants to book a flight to Mallorca that I will buy them beer. We will do whatever we plan to celebrate. We will have our own parade in my garden. Let's wait. In general, I do not follow this whole situation," said Klopp.
Jurgen Klopp left Liverpool in the summer of 2024 after nine years of work.
Under his leadership, the Mersiside won all the major tournaments, including the Premier League, the English Cup and Super Cup, the League Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.
In total, Liverpool played 489 games under Klopp, winning 304, drawing 100 and losing 85. Klopp's place at the club was taken by Dutch specialist Arne Sloot, who previously led Feyenoord.
In January of this year, Klopp took over as head of Red Bull's global football division. It is reported that the 57-year-old German will earn approximately 12 million euros per year in this position.
