Josh Barnett, a member of the Spanish team "Burgos", will remember the "Baku-Khankendi" Azerbaijan cycling race for the rest of his life. Sport24.az reports that the athlete, who was the winner of the V stage of the race, said this at a press conference.
The cyclist from New Zealand said that they had prepared well since the beginning of the week:
"As a team, we were well attuned to the tournament. Today, depending on the situation, we tried to let each other pass. This played a major role in my victory. Because our team was working together. Our correct positioning during the race led to success. Even though some team members did not come to the fore, they shared in the victory."
He said that he won his first victory in his professional career:
"I will remember this victory for the rest of my life. Because firsts are never forgotten."
It should be noted that the "Burgos" team won the "Baku-Khankendi" Azerbaijan cycling race in the overall standings.
