Israfil Ashurli has opened the climbing season this year. The famous alpinist is currently in Nepal and has climbed Mera Peak (6,476 m), which is considered the most popular trekking peak in the region. This expedition can also be seen as a preparation stage for the Everest conqueror's upcoming new challenges.
Idman.Biz reports that Mera Peak is located near mountains such as Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu, Tamserku, and Ama-Dablam. That is why the Mera trek is considered one of the most scenic routes in the region, offering participants magnificent views of Kanchenjunga, Makalu, Nuptse, Everest, South Lhotse, Kangtega, and other peaks.
Ashurli successfully climbed the peak and shared an interesting detail of the trek. Namely, the climber's daughter gave him a Pikachu figure for the trip, and Israfil took this toy with him all the way to Mera Peak.
"When your daughter gives you Pikachu for the next expedition, all the harshness disappears," the Everest conqueror said after the summit attack.
He is also planning to climb the eight-thousander Annapurna (8,091 m). This peak is also located in Nepal. Five years ago, Ashurli tried to climb it, but unfavorable weather conditions prevented him from doing so, and he had to retreat. However, the climber is preparing to face this mysterious mountain again.
The mystery of Annapurna is related to its harsh climate and dangerous conditions. Many alpinists who tried to conquer this peak have lost their lives, and some have gone missing. For the local residents, this mountain has a sacred meaning, it is considered a place of power and spiritual energy. They believe that spirits and divine beings live on the slopes of the mountain, so they perform religious rituals to seek protection and blessings. All these mystical legends further enhance the attraction of Annapurna and make it special for researchers, alpinists, and spiritual travelers from all over the world. Despite all the difficulties and dangers, this peak continues to inspire people.
"Five years have passed since my first attempt on Annapurna. I had to retreat then, but it seems the time has come for a new meeting with this mystical Mountain. Moreover, the first book I read about the world of mountaineering was also Annapurna," said Israfil Ashurli.
