Important decisions on sports were made at the Board meeting of the Ministry of Youth and Sports

On March 17, a meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Youth and Sports was held.

Idman.Biz reports that the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan has released information about this.

It was reported that a number of issues were discussed and relevant decisions were made at the meeting chaired by Minister Farid Gayibov, according to the agenda.

At the meeting, a decision was made regarding the approval of the norms regulating the training process in judo at Children and Youth Sports Schools and Specialized Olympic Reserve Children and Youth Sports Schools. In addition, the issue of awarding honorary titles to sports specialists was considered. By the decision of the Ministry's Board, Askhab Kalayev and Rauf Nabiyev (both weightlifting), Islam Najafguliyev (judo) were awarded the title of "National Judge". Gashim Magomedov (taekwondo), Imamaddin Khalilov and Sabir Zeynalov (both parataekwondo) were awarded the honorary title of "Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan."

The requirements put forward by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the preparation of the Rules on Ensuring a Safe Environment and Protecting Personal Identity by the Republican Federations were discussed. At the same time, the Technical Regulations regarding the rules for holding national competitions were approved in a new edition.

At the event, presentations of candidates for the selection of "Sports Ambassadors" for 2026 and "Sports Capital" for 2027 were heard and a vote was held. By the decision of the Board of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ulviyya Fataliyeva (chess), Vafa Musayeva (alpinism), Aynur Yusifova (gymnastics), Dadash Dadashbeyli (weightlifting) and Elchin Asadov (cycling) were selected as "Sports Ambassadors" for 2026. The city of Yevlakh was selected as the "Sports Capital" of Azerbaijan for 2027.
