Nepali mountaineering guide Kami Rita Sherpa and climber Lakpa Sherpa have achieved a new historic result on Everest.
Idman.Biz reports that 56-year-old Kami Rita Sherpa has renewed his record by climbing Everest (8848.86 m), the world's highest peak, for the 32nd time. With this result, he has further strengthened his status as the alpinist with the most successful ascents to Everest.
Among women, 53-year-old Lakpa Sherpa achieved a historic indicator. She climbed Everest for the 11th time, strengthening her position as the absolute record holder among women.
Both historic results were recorded during the ongoing spring mountaineering season in the Himalayas.
Kami Rita Sherpa first climbed Everest in 1994 and has been working as a professional guide on Himalayan expeditions for many years. Lakpa Sherpa, as the woman who has climbed Everest the most, holds a special place in the history of mountaineering.
