The European Judo Championship continues in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.
QOL.az reports that Azerbaijani judoka Ahmad Yusifov (60 kg) competed for a bronze medal.
Our representative won against Spaniard Francisco Garrigos with ippon in the match for third place.
This is the first award won by Azerbaijani judokas in the tournament.
Earlier, Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg), Konul Aliyeva (48 kg) and Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (52 kg) stopped competing in the competition.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team is competing in the European Championship both with individual athletes and in teams. Our country is represented by 15 judokas in 12 weight categories, including 9 men and 6 women. The team will also compete in the mixed team competition.
