The 69th meeting of the Ad Hoc European Committee for the World Anti-Doping Agency (CAHAMA) was held in Strasbourg, France.
Idman.Biz reports that the country was represented at the event by a delegation led by Tahmina Taghi-zade, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA).
The agenda of the two-day meeting included approval of the report of the 68th CAHAMA meeting, determination of the dates of the next meetings, updates from the Secretariat, and preparation for the upcoming Executive Committee and Board of Founders meetings of WADA.
During the meeting, representatives of European countries discussed important topics on the global anti-doping agenda and held preliminary discussions on the formation of a unified European position in WADA's decision-making process. The relevant CAHAMA expert groups delivered presentations on issues included in the agenda of the WADA committees. During the open session, there was an exchange of views with WADA representatives, questions were answered, and information was provided about the organization's priorities.
At the meeting, Rufat Efendiyev, Deputy Executive Director of AMADA, spoke as a rapporteur on gender equality, emphasizing the importance of considering gender aspects in anti-doping policy.
As a specially mandated body, CAHAMA is the main mechanism for preparing a unified position of the countries acceding to the European Cultural Convention vis-à-vis WADA. The coordinated participation of the region's countries makes an important contribution to the formation of a fair, transparent and effective global anti-doping system.
The participation of the AMADA delegation in the meeting once again confirms Azerbaijan's commitment to international cooperation in the field of anti-doping and active dialogue within the European family.
