Turkish athlete Ahmet Alkanoğlu, the winner of the "Baku Marathon 2026," shared his impressions after the race. He stated that it was an honor to win again in Baku.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to AZERTAC that Ahmet Alkanoğlu emphasized that the strong wind affected the running process.
"As someone who has won a marathon in Baku before, it's very nice to be here again. It was a bit difficult today because we were running in strong wind conditions. Organizing a marathon is not an easy task, but everything was at a high level," said the winner.
The Turkish athlete noted that he was happy to wave his flag and expressed his gratitude to the Azerbaijani people:
"I thank the coaching staff, my family, and everyone who supported me. I am grateful to all sports fans of Azerbaijan. I believe that I will achieve successful results in future competitions as well."
