Today, Azerbaijani athletes will compete in five sports at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
Idman.Biz reports that swimmers Said Hamidov, Yegor Maynitskiy, Abdurrahman Rustamov, Ramil Valizade, Rashad Alguliyev, Fatima Alkaramova, Suleyman Ismayilzade, Ogtay Huseynov, Vlastilina Khasyauova, Mehri Abdurahmanli, Anastasia Boborikina, and a mixed team of girls and boys will try to show their skills.
Hilal Hasanov and Onur Guluzade will compete in the men's individual table tennis competition, while Marziyya Nurmatova and Zemfira Mikayilova will compete in the women's.
Weightlifter Rahila Huseynzade (86 kg) will participate in the final stage.
At the same time, Azerbaijani Muay Thai fighters will start their performances in the competition. Khayal Aliyev (60-65 kg) and Salahaddin Gojazade (65-70 kg) will compete for the title of winner.
From karate fighters, Roman Heydarov, Turgut Hasanov and Fatima Jabrayilova will demonstrate their skills.
It should be noted that the Islamic Games will end on November 21. Azerbaijani representatives have so far won 29 awards (4 gold, 9 silver, 16 bronze) and the country is in sixth place in the medal standings.
