The number of participating countries and athletes in the III CIS Games has increased

The number of countries and athletes registered for the III CIS Games, which will be held in Azerbaijan, has increased.

According to the information provided to İdman.biz from the Baku City Circuit Operations Company, 1619 athletes and 2313 representatives from 12 countries will participate in the competition.

Although the participation of 10 countries was initially planned, Pakistan and Oman were later added to the list.

It has been confirmed that Azerbaijan will be represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4 at the tournament.

Competitions will be held in 23 sports (archery, badminton, 3x3 basketball, boxing, canoe, chovgan, fencing, U-16 football, Greco-Roman wrestling, judo, karate, rhythmic gymnastics, rowing, sambo, shooting, skeet shooting, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, trampoline gymnastics, volleyball, women's wrestling, freestyle wrestling) in 12 venues.

It should be noted that the III CIS Games will be held from September 28 to October 8 this year in seven cities of Azerbaijan - Ganja, Yevlakh, Mingachevir, Gabala, Shaki, Goygol and Khankendi. The opening ceremony of the competition will take place on September 28, and the closing ceremony on October 8 at the Ganja city stadium.
