One of the goals is to visit each of the seven cities where the III CIS Games are held.
A "Report" correspondent seconded to Ganja reports that this was stated by Russian Deputy Minister of Sports Alexei Morozov in a statement to journalists.
He spoke in Ganja about the meeting of the Council for Physical Culture and Sports of the participants of the "Agreement on cooperation in the field of physical culture and sports of the states participating in the Commonwealth of Independent States":
"We are here from the countries with the most athletes and representatives. Today we were in Ganja in the Heydar Aliyev Park, and also visited the Goygol Olympic Sports Complex, where sambo competitions are held. In general, our goal is to visit all seven cities where the Games are held. Before that, we were usually only in Baku. Baku is the sports capital of Azerbaijan."
The Russian Deputy Minister said that his athletes will gain great experience from the III CIS Games: "These Games are a great opportunity for our athletes to compete under their flag and anthem. Our athletes are happy to see strong and motivated rivals. This will be a great experience for them."
He also said that he would watch the archery competition to be held in Khankendi:
"We will definitely see all the local sports facilities. We want to visit all the participating teams located in these cities. It is very important for us to explore the entire geographical area where the CIS Games are held."
He spoke about the possibility of holding the IV CIS Games in Russia:
"This issue was discussed today. Yesterday we discussed all this formally and informally. Some options are already ready. Today is mainly an informal meeting. The Russian Federation is always ready to lend a helping hand. We would be happy to host the Games ourselves. We will continue negotiations and make informal decisions. At the next meeting, we will officially confirm the venue for the IV CIS Games."
It should be noted that the III CIS Games will end on October 8. The competition was attended by 1,624 athletes and 2,337 representatives from 13 countries. Azerbaijan is represented by 340 athletes, Pakistan by 4, Russia by 262, Uzbekistan by 254, Belarus by 240, Kazakhstan by 147, Tajikistan by 144, Kyrgyzstan by 126, Turkmenistan by 48, Turkey by 38, Cuba by 11, Kuwait by 6, and Oman by 4.
