British Richard Whitehead, who had both legs amputated below the knee at birth, has nevertheless dedicated his life to sports.
He first engaged in sledge hockey (a type of ice hockey designed for people with disabilities - ed.), and then switched to running, becoming a two-time Paralympic champion.
The athlete holds world records for the marathon and half marathon with prosthetics.
During the last London Marathon, he updated his record by running the distance in 2 hours 40 minutes 25 seconds (that's a pace of 3:48 per kilometer).

At the finish line, Richard Whitehead barely held back tears - it was both from joy and unbearable pain.
