Oqtay Huseynov, the Azerbaijani swimmer who won a gold medal at the III CIS Games, gave a statement to journalists. Sport24.az reports that he said he was pleased with this success:
"It is the first time that an Azerbaijani swimmer has won a gold medal at the CIS Games. I am very happy that I was able to do this. I am happy that I raised the flag of Azerbaijan to the highest level. I was a little rushed before the race, but I was able to overcome this when I started swimming."
It should be noted that Oqtay Huseynov won the 400-meter medley swimming competition, outperforming all his rivals.
