Azerbaijani athletes have won a total of 300 medals at the Islamic Solidarity Games held so far.

Azerbaijan is in third place in the overall medal standings. Turkey (239 gold, 206 silver, 200 bronze) is first, and Iran (118 gold, 96 silver, 106 bronze) is second.
Our representatives took the honorary podium 15 times at the first competition held in Mecca, Saudi Arabia in 2005. With 4 of the medals being gold, 4 silver, and 7 bronze, Azerbaijan ranked 8th in the medal standings.
The II Islamic Solidarity Games, which were supposed to be held in Tehran, the capital of Iran, in 2009, were cancelled for certain reasons.
Indonesia hosted the III Islamic Solidarity Games in 2013. At that time, Azerbaijan again took 8th place in the medal standings. This time, 6 gold, 9 silver and 9 bronze awards were won.
The IV tournament was held in Baku in 2017. Country representatives took the honorary podium 162 times (75 gold, 50 silver, 37 bronze) and were also leaders in the ranking.
Finally, the V Islamiada took place in Konya, Turkey, in 2021. Azerbaijani athletes increased the number of medals to 99 (29 gold, 36 silver, 34 bronze) this time and ranked fourth in the ranking.
The VI Islamic Solidarity Games started today in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Azerbaijan will be represented by 179 athletes in 20 sports at the competition. In total, 57 countries will compete for medals in 23 sports.
The opening ceremony of the tournament will be held on November 7, and the closing ceremony will be held on the 21st.
