World Championship
Men
Zelim Kotsoyev (100 kg), who was exempt from the first stage, defeated Gennaro Pirelli (Italy) in the 1/16 final, followed by Marat Baykamurov (Kazakhstan). Our Olympic champion wrestled Arman Adamyan (IJF) in the 1/4 final. Since the opponent advanced to the next stage, Kotsoyev participated in the consolation match. Zelim, who defeated Nikolos Sherazadishvili (Spain), tested his strength with Seh-Yon Kim (South Korea) for the bronze medal. Our judoka, who won a confident victory, did not miss the chance to win a bronze.
It should be noted that Zelim Tckaev (81 kg) and Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) have already won bronze medals in the world championship as part of our national team.
