Judo competitions will be held within the framework of the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on November 8-10.
Idman.Biz reports that the local organizing committee of the Islamic Games has allocated a quota for five male and seven female judokas for participating countries. At the tournament, Azerbaijan will be represented by 12 athletes under the leadership of performance director and head coach of the men's national team Richard Trautmann, as well as head coach of the women's national team Amina Abdellatif.
In the selection of the squad, special attention was paid to the presence of reserve athletes in the mixed team competition due to injuries and other cases. Unfortunately, due to the quota restriction applied by the organizers, our national team will not be able to perform with a full squad at the Games.
Athletes from more than 30 countries will compete in the judo competitions.
