The results of the Azerbaijani national team of young judokas at the European Cup held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, were successful.
This was stated by the head coach of the team, Rustam Alimli, in an interview with "Report".
The expert stated that the main goal is to prepare for the European Championship to be held in September:
"The main goal is to prepare for the European Championship to be held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, in September. We went to this competition with the main team, and our goal was to check the children. We tried to get information about their current situation, mistakes, and shortcomings. Our overall results are successful. 4 of our athletes won gold medals. We took first place in the team standings. In fact, I was expecting this. Because our athletes are in very good shape."
R. Alimli also touched on the upcoming plans:
"After this competition, there will be a 3-day training camp in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Then, from August 11 to 23, we will prepare in Guba. During this time, we will try to eliminate mistakes and go to the European Championship in the best possible shape."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team won 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the European Cup and took first place in the team standings among 26 countries.
