A new judo hall has opened in the Vandam settlement of the Gabala region.
Idman.Biz reports with reference to the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (ACF) that the event held on this occasion was attended by Arifa Bayramova, head of the Gabala Regional Education Department, Rashad Rasulllu, executive vice-president of ACF, Elkhan Mammadov, world champion, member of the ACF Executive Committee, Fariz Najafov, president of the "Gabala" Sports Club, and local residents.
The total size of the hall, equipped with tatami mats that meet modern standards by ACF, is 150 square meters. In addition, there are coach and dressing rooms. 150 athletes will be able to practice judo in the hall.
It should be noted that in 2022–2026, new judo halls were put into operation by the Azerbaijan Judo Federation in Ganja, Sumgayit, Gusar, Agstafa, Zagatala, Goranboy, Sabirabad, Zira settlement of Baku, Agdash, Kurdamir, Astara, Jalilabad, Tartar, Gakh, Imishli, Shabran and Mosul village of Zagatala. Also, a total of 14,000 tatami mats were distributed to 195 sports halls in Baku and the regions.
