The judokas who will represent Azerbaijan at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, which will be held in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, have been announced. Sport24.az reports that the press service of the Azerbaijan Judo Federation has released information about this.
The local organizing committee of the Islamic Games has allocated quotas for 5 male and 7 female judokas for participating countries. 12 athletes will represent our country in the tournament under the leadership of performance director and head coach of the men's team Richard Trautman, as well as head coach of the women's national team Amina Abdellatif.
During the selection of the team, the presence of reserve athletes due to injuries and other cases in the mixed team competition was given special attention.
Ruslan Pashayev (66 kg), Hidayat Heydarov (73 kg), Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg), Zelim Kotsoev (100 kg) and Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg) among men, Konul Aliyeva (48 kg), Aydan Valiyeva, Gultaj Mammadaliyeva (both 52 kg), Fidan Alizade (57 kg), Sudaba Agayeva, Aytaj Gardashkhanli (both 70 kg) and Gunel Hasanli (78 kg) among women will compete on the tatami.
It should be noted that the judo competitions will be held on November 8-10.
