The results of the Azerbaijani national team of young judokas at the European Cup held in Skopje, the capital of North Macedonia, were successful.
This was stated to "Report" by the head coach of the team Rustam Alimli.
The specialist said that the main goal is to prepare for the European Championship to be held in September:
"The main goal is to prepare for the European Championship, which will be held in Bratislava, the capital of Slovakia, in September. We went to this competition with the main team and our goal was to check the children. We tried to get information about their current situation, mistakes and shortcomings. Our overall results are successful. 4 of our athletes won gold medals. We came in first place in the team standings. Actually, I expected this. Because our athletes are in very good shape."
R.Alimli also touched upon future plans:
"After this competition, there will be a 3-day training camp in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Then, from August 11 to 23, we will be preparing in Guba. During this time, we will try to eliminate mistakes and go to the European Championship in the best possible shape."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team won 4 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals at the European Cup and became the first in the team standings among 26 countries.
