The European Judo Cup among adults has started in the city of Gori, Georgia.
Idman.Biz reports that on the first day of the competition, our national team won a total of 5 medals, including 1 gold, 1 silver and 3 bronze.
Three of the awards were won in the -66 kg weight category. Islam Rahimov won a gold medal by defeating all his opponents. Elshan Asadov took second place and won a silver medal, while Nizami Imranov won a bronze medal. Other bronze medals were won by Babarahim Mirzayev (-60 kg) and Rufat Shovlatov (-73 kg).
In the international tournament, which will end tomorrow, Azerbaijan is in second place among 18 countries in terms of medal quality.
