The individual competitions at the World Judo Championships in Budapest, the capital of Hungary, have come to an end.
Idman.biz reports that the Azerbaijani national team finished the World Cup with 3 medals.
Zelim Tckaev (81 kg), Eljan Hajiyev (90 kg) and Zelim Kotsoev (100 kg) won bronze medals in our team. With this result, our team ranked 14th in the overall standings.
The championship was dominated by Japanese athletes. Representatives of the "Land of the Rising Sun" won 6 gold, 4 silver and 4 bronze medals. Judokas competing under the flag of the International Judo Federation (IJF) won 3 gold and 2 bronze medals. The Italian national team was 3rd in the list with two gold medals.
It should be noted that Azerbaijani judokas will test their strength in the world championship among mixed teams tomorrow.
