The European Judo Cup among youth has started in Istanbul, Turkey.
Idman.Biz reports that our national team added 3 medals to its tally on the first day of the competition.
Nihad Mamishov (-66 kg) defeated all his opponents and made our anthem sound in the brotherly country. Aykhan Mirzazade (-60 kg) and Sadiq Isgandarli (-66 kg) finished the international tournament with a bronze medal.
With 1 gold and 2 bronze awards, Azerbaijan ranks third in the overall team standings among 27 countries, and second in the boys' competition.
