The Absheron-Khizi regional championship among U-17 teenagers has started at the Sumgayit Olympic Sports Complex.
Idman.Biz reports that 219 judokas from Absheron, Khizi, and Sumgayit are competing in the tournament.
It was reported that the purpose of the competition is to form a base of young judokas and to determine the athletes who will participate in the national championship based on quotas. Also, the U-17 regional championship will earn important ranking points for selection to the national team.
