World Oil and Gas Cup 2025 tournament to be held in Baku

The World Oil and Gas Cup 2025 mini-football tournament has started in Baku.

İdman.biz reports that the international competition, organized for the first time, is being held jointly by Falcon Luxury Travel, located in our country, and Oman-based Success Sport companies.

Leading oil and gas companies from Asia, Africa and Europe are competing in the competition, which will last until May 12. Among the heads and representatives of the companies participating in the opening ceremony, there were also many officials. The official opening of the tournament was made by Jamal Al-Ghandour, a member of the Organizing Committee and head of the Referees Committee, who performed the symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The debut tournament is held in two categories: Elite category and Master category. The Master category is intended for players over 40 years of age. A total of 30 minutes of game time has been determined in each game, with two halves of 15 minutes each.

Teams participating in the Elite category: SOCAR, SOCAR-KBR, AzəriQaz, Azfar Group (Azerbaijan), Petroleum Development Oman, OQ Group (Oman), Vien Group (Germany).

The following teams are in the Master category: ENPPI (Egypt), Vien Group (Germany), Azfar Group (Azerbaijan), Petroleum Development Oman, Abraj Energy (Oman).

The chairman of the Organizing Committee, Ali Al-Maani, said that he was pleased with the successful start of the tournament. He emphasized that this event is an important foundation for long-term sustainability and expressed his hope that the tournament will become a networking platform among global oil and gas companies for wider participation and development in the future. Ali Al-Maani added that the Organizing Committee will strengthen its efforts to ensure wider participation in future editions, especially from the Gulf countries and other regions.

It should be noted that the tournament games are held at "ASK Arena".
