4 matches took place on the first day of the stage. The first ticket to the 1/4 finals was found in the duel between England and Bulgaria. The English were stronger in the penalty shootout.
Portugal lost to Hungary, and France lost to Mauritania. The Azerbaijani national team eliminated the current world champion Romania.
