"We played well. Although we couldn't score in the first half, we were superior in terms of real opportunities."
Idman.Biz reports that these words were said by the futsal player of the Azerbaijani national team, Nihad Ismayilov, in his statement to the press service of the federation about the friendly match in Tbilisi, where they lost to Georgia with a score of 2:4.
He stated that they missed 6-7 scoring opportunities:
"If we could have capitalized on them, the course of the match would have been different. Instead, the home team did not forgive our mistakes. Taking advantage of the confusion, they scored two consecutive goals in one minute and gained the advantage. We started the second half differently. This time we scored. After the break, it was an equal game."
Ismayilov said that the head coach also gave a chance to the young players involved in the team:
"Of course, if they are invited and brought on the trip, they had to appear on the field to gain experience. It was a good experience for them. Test matches are also important for this reason."
The futsal player also shared his thoughts on the second match they will play with the Georgian national team:
"We will face this opponent again on April 11. This time, we will be the winning side. Our team is improving from game to game. We have a good team. The atmosphere is also positive. Despite falling behind in the score, our team did not lose heart. This is a point to be noted. The consecutive friendly matches we will hold will also be beneficial for us in terms of moving forward."
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani national team will face Georgia for the second time on April 11 at the same venue.
