Namig Mammadkarimov: I believe in the national team, but the result was tragic

"If we look at the squad of the Danish national team, we can see that they have enough experienced futsal players. 10 teams participate in their championships. The game with the Danish national team will not be easy at all. However, as always, we believe in our national team." This was stated by former futsal player of the Azerbaijani national team Namig Mammadkarimov in his statement to Sport24.az.

The experienced futsal player announced his expectations from the friendly matches of our national team with the Danish national team:

"The performance of our national team at the last Islamic Games did not satisfy me like everyone else. It is not pleasant at all for us to lose to Uzbekistan by a large score as a national team. True, at that time Araz-Nakhchivan was playing in the Champions League, and some futsal players joined the team later. However, the result was tragic. We shouldn't be discouraged. There are promising players. They must show themselves in their teams. At that time, high-level Brazilian players played in the national team. We do not deny their rights. But we were not idle, we were constantly working on ourselves. It happened that someone from the Brazilians was injured, and we could replace him properly. We have never been discouraged. Now only Azerbaijani futsal players play in the national team. This has its own beauty. Those who take themselves on the good side can always play in the team. The more friendly matches, the better. I wish our national team success."

It should be noted that the national team will play friendly matches with the Danish national team on January 22 and 24 at the Baku Sports Palace.
