The "Heydar Aliyev Cup" futsal tournament dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of national leader Heydar Aliyev will be held among the teams of government agencies operating in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. Sport24.az reports that 20 teams will participate in the competition jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Futsal Federation and the Nakhchivan Football Federation.
The draw ceremony of the tournament took place today. Representatives of the organizing bodies greeted the representatives of the teams participating in the event and spoke about the importance of the competition. It was noted that the memory of the national leader is always cherished for the sports community, and a series of events are held every year on the occasion of the birth and memorial days of the great personality. It was emphasized that there is a high interest in this futsal tournament, and its importance in terms of ensuring mass sports, promoting a healthy lifestyle, and strengthening inter-agency cooperation was emphasized.
Information was provided about the tournament regulations, and questions of interest to the participants were answered in detail. Then the draw began. According to the results of the draw, 4 groups were formed, each with 5 teams.
It should be noted that the games of the tournament, which will start on May 16, will be held at the Ilham Aliyev Olympic Sports Complex. The teams that will take the first three places in the competition will be awarded diplomas, medals and gifts, as well as the main prize - the "Heydar Aliyev Cup" - to the winning team.
