The futsal tournament dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, jointly organized by the Association of Azerbaijan Football Federations (AFFA) and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AZMIU) within the framework of UEFA's "Hat-Trick" program, has concluded. Sport24.az reports with reference to AFFA that the tournament was held among student teams representing various faculties of the university and was important in terms of revitalizing university sports life and promoting a healthy lifestyle among students. The decisive matches of the competition took place on the futsal field of the AZMIU sports hall.
In the match for third place, the team of the Faculty of Construction defeated the team of the Faculty of Architecture with a score of 5:1 and became the bronze medalist of the tournament. In the final match, the team of the Faculty of Construction Economics faced the team of the Faculty of Transport. The team of the Faculty of Construction Economics, surpassing its opponent with a score of 3:2, became the winner of the competition.
At the end of the tournament, the winning team was awarded a cup by AFFA, and the top three finishers were awarded with appropriate medals. In addition, distinguished players were awarded special prizes in various nominations.
Veteran football player Vali Gasimov and officials of the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction participated in the award ceremony, congratulated the winning and prize-winning teams, and presented them with cups and awards.
It should be noted that the organization of such tournaments is of particular importance in terms of increasing interest in futsal among young people, developing mass football, and effectively organizing students' leisure time. AFFA and AZMIU plan to continue joint projects in this direction in the future.
