Manchester United coach Michael Carrick commented on the team's 4-2 loss to Milan in a pre-season match.
Sport.Biz reports that the game was held at the "Tarčynski Arena" in the Polish city of Wroclaw.
"We're disappointed today. We played poorly. There are reasons, but no excuses. We need to improve. Overall, we're ready for next week. These minutes will be beneficial for many players. We worked hard in training and our performance in matches was very good. We're still in high spirits", - quotes Carrick from Tribal Football.
In the match, striker Marcus Rashford returned to the field after playing on loan at Barcelona: the striker came on as a substitute in the 60th minute and played his first game. He has been playing for Manchester United since December 2024. Lisandro Martínez and Kobbie Mainoo have also returned to the field.
At the end of the 2025/2026 season, Manchester United finished third in the English Premier League.
The Manchester team scored 71 points in 38 games. They will face "Hull City" in the 1st round of the new Premier League season on August 22.
