The game against "United Galati" (Romania) in the main stage of the UEFA Futsal Champions League was the toughest match of the season for "Araz-Nakhchivan".
This was stated by the team captain Emin Kurdov in an interview with "Report".
The goalkeeper, who was one of the best in the match and remembered for many saves, emphasized that the opponent has a strong squad:
"The match was difficult because we were playing against the group's favorite and also the home team. There was great fan support. I would say it was the toughest match of the season. The coaches had analyzed the opponent. Their squad consisted of Brazilian futsal players and members of the Romanian national team. Although it was difficult, we won. I congratulate the team and the Azerbaijani futsal community. It was truly a magnificent game."
The experienced futsal player said that they aim to be among the top 8 strongest teams in the tournament:
"We have two matches ahead. Today we will meet with the Luxembourg team. On November 1, we will have a game against the Netherlands representative. But we are not thinking about this meeting yet. The goal is to be among the top 8 strongest teams. We want to break the 11-year syndrome and qualify for the play-off stage."
It should be noted that "Araz-Nakhchivan" defeated the Romanian representative with a score of 2:1. The team will hold its next meeting today against the Luxembourg champion "Differdange 03".
