Bad luck prevented "Birbaşa Baku" from reaching the final of the Champions League in mini-football.
Idman.biz reports that this was stated by the team's head coach Marius Mitu in an interview with "Report".
The Romanian specialist was disappointed that they could not realize their dreams: "Despite showing very consistent football, I was very disappointed that we were eliminated in the 1/4 finals with penalties. In addition to some small details, bad luck also prevented us from reaching the final."
He does not feel the need for major changes in the team: "There will not be many major changes in the team. But we need to work harder on some specific issues so as not to be eliminated in the early stages of the next tournaments."
The head coach also touched upon the performances of other Azerbaijani clubs "Aznur" and "Zira" in the Champions League: "I think that all 3 Azerbaijani teams performed well in this tournament, showing quality football from a technical and tactical point of view. But sometimes this is not enough to win the tournament."
It should be noted that in the tournament held in Bulgaria, Azerbaijani clubs "Zira" and "Birbaşa Baku" stopped the fight in the 1/4 finals, and "Aznur" in the 1/8 finals.
